In Lawrence, Kansas, at the University of Kansas’ Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house, there’s a special addition that serves both as a tribute and a gift to its members. This tribute is dedicated to Levi Ward, the son of Jill & Shawn Ward, who tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run incident in 2022.
In memory of Levi, his mother, Jill, established the Levi Ward Legacy Foundation. One of its initial projects was to enhance the fraternity house’s basement, turning it into a meaningful space that reflects Levi’s passions and interests.
To accomplish this, a custom golf simulator was added to the basement. This wasn’t just any golf simulator; it was specially designed to resonate with Levi’s memory. It features “LWL – Levi Ward Legacy” wall pads, ensuring that Levi’s presence is always felt in this communal space.
This space is now not only a place for recreation and bonding but also a reminder of the importance of community, remembrance, and cherishing the memories of those we’ve lost. Through this initiative, the fraternity house not only honors Levi’s memory but also provides a space for members to come together and create new memories.
